Estate Variations

Our fees

Fixed fees may be less than stated if the matter is very straightforward, but will be more than stated if the matter proves to be involved or complex. We will advise you of any such fee variation at the earliest available opportunity and before any additional fees are incurred.

All fees quoted above exclude any disbursements (i.e payments to others required to progress the matter), which you will be advised of at the earliest available opportunity.

Any further advice and/or assistance in this area will be charged at an hourly charging rate of £150 plus VAT, with a quote or fee estimate being confirmed once it becomes possible to estimate the volume of work involved.

When you are a beneficiary, you may decide following the person’s death that you want to redirect your entitlement. We can advise accordingly and assist in the preparation of a Deed of Variation if desired.

Such Deeds can be efficient for Inheritance Tax and Capital Gains Tax purposes if concluded within 2 years of death of the deceased.
